RIDING
HIGH
c1999 Raphael Giglio
So they say, we're the lucky ones. Young and
single, Wild and free,
But they don't know how lonesome I become
when I come home to only me.
I've had my share of pain and sorrow, and
lonely nights that never end.
But that's all gone, I hope forever, but
still sometimes I need a friend.
I may be riding high on joy and triumph on
one day, down and out the next day
But God knows how I feel.
And it's a pretty good time to receive what
I've anticipated,
He knows how long I've waited, to find a
love so real.
But years go by, and nothing changes. Same
old story, same old scene.
And you flip through Months on your
calendar, like flipping pages in a magazine.
So take a look, deep inside of you, through
the window of your eyes.
Explore your soul, release your spirit, find
a fire that never dies.
You may be riding high on joy and triumph on
one day down and out the next day.
God knows how you feel. And it's a pretty
good time to receive what you've anticipated,
He knows how long you've waited, to find a
love so real.
But you compare yourself to someone else and
you feel you've been left out,
Of the fun and fortune and love and laughter
you think life's all about.
And your life is like an emotional
roller-coaster up and down.
You begin to see a pattern forming the
second time around.
I may be riding high on joy and triumph on
one day down and out the next day
But God knows how I feel. And it's a pretty
good time to receive what I've anticipated,
He knows how long I've waited, to find a
love so real.
