THERES A WAY c-1999 Raphael Giglio Theres a way we can live if we learn to forgive We can push back the demons behind us With compassion and grace we can come to a place where our sorrow and shame can not find us. Theres a way we can go if we learn and we grow And we dont pass our pain to another And when hurt comes our way It will not have to stay Well have pain but we wont have to suffer.
And theres a way that we can win, if we could learn how to give in. And the way that we should go is straight, and narrow.
Theres a tree by a lake that I once thought Id take and Id make it the place of my promise And a woman who stood with me there in the in the woods and a heart with our names written on it. But the years passed us by and the feelings ran dry, And the smiles disappeared off of her face. And soon I could see neither she nor the tree, ever belonged to me in the first place.
And theres a way that we can win, if we could learn how to give in. And theres a way that we should go, but its straight, and narrow.
